The German Musical Instrument Price for the Walter Bassoon 1994, 2002 & 2010
We were elated to obtain the German Music Instrument Award in 1994. After a second time of being bestowed with this prestigious award in 2002, and as the only twice-awarded bassoon manufacturer up until this time, we were beyond jubilant.
Excerpts from the official test notes on the Walter bassoon: "The instrument is distinguished by a well-balanced, typical tone color, "characteristic of a bassoon," as well as by an excellent responsiveness even in the critical "piano-low register range.“ What is remarkable is the unanimous assessment of all participating musician-adjudicators and their acoustic examination results. The bassoon lies very well in the musician’s hand and offers superior playability. The adjudicators also testify that the ergonomic design is very well done.
Professional bassoonists from around the world have endorsed our work through their evaluations.
Indefatigable striving for perfection in sound, intonation and handling paired with cutting-edge
acoustical innovation is our proven recipe for success. Over time, this is how we've been able to continuously develop even the most inconspicuous of details on our instruments, and integrate them into the precision of the world-renown Walter production. In 2010, we competed for the German Music Instrument award again, and - incredibly enough - we were able to take home this prestigious award for the third time.
